What is Conservamus?

The stated ambition is to restore the buildings to their historical lustre, to preserve the Grande Salle and its acoustics, which have attracted the greatest performers, and to maintain this emblematic place at the top of the campuses dedicated to the study, interpretation and knowledge of music.

Since 2007, Conservamus has carried out feasibility studies, drawn up a business plan, defined the legal and institutional framework of the site, prepared its management after the works, carried out awareness campaigns, and completed the restoration of the exterior woodwork (window frames and monumental doors, the most threatened elements of the building).

Today, the association continues to be involved, mainly as a space for dialogue between the people and institutions involved in the restoration of the Conservatory, and as a fundraising tool for the restoration project planned for 2024. To this end, in 2022, Conservamus has set up a Friends of Conservamus Fund, managed by the King Baudouin Foundation.

The involvement of Conservamus will not stop with the restoration: after the works are completed, its members aim to support the efforts of the conservatories to build up a common orchestra and acquire state-of-the-art equipment, quality instruments, etc.
